Black Coated blade attraction, i don't get it...

I have a LOT of knives with all the finished, but at times I could barely afford the less expensive coated models. As things improved so did the variety.

ok see this picture is exactly what i mean, again not judging anyone's taste, but to me this look awful. i would rather not have any black coating at this stage.

If you’re doing a lot of cutting outside (fishing, hunting, feather sticking, carving, etc) I like a coated blade for the anti glare effect. It’s not as visible to animals with a huge glare coming off the blade and it’s not as hard on the eyes if you’re focusing on a cut.

less maintenance on the coated blades.

Not as reflective

Used to be the only option other than the LE safe queens

For the sheath maker it also adds a layer of wiggle room for sheath making

I do really like coated blades. It comes down in part to personal choice/preference. And yes early on cost/availability played a part.
