Black Coating and what Sheath?

Hi everyone!

I'm looking at getting an Fallkniven F1 and I just wanted to make sure what I'm getting is worth the extra money. I was going to get the F1 with the black teflon coating and kydex sheath as oppsoed to plain blade and open/closed leather sheath.

Can anyone comment either way and tell me what would be best. Its going to be used mainly in the woods and for related primitive skills and won't have good maintence because of that. If you need to know anything else post the question and I'll try to answer it asap.

Thanks,
Derek

Derek, the only insight I would offer is that kydex sheaths unless well-fitted are notorious coating-scratchers. Since this will be a user, that may not be a concern.

Where you are going to use it, the coating won't really make a difference for corrosion protection. Unless you'll use it in or near salt water or like like the looks of it, you don't need the coated version.

Kydex or not? The most important factor there for the factory sheaths is actually how you like to carry it, since your environment will hardly be wet enough to make leather unusable. With a backpack, the dangler is probably more practical.

The black F1 with the dangler sheath is great and good-looking too.

Although it does not mindfully keep guard in the small mountain fields, the scarecrow does not stand in vain
