Doesn't the Small business Saturday purchases have to be made on-site to get the AE credit?

Technically, yes. If you are looking for the AE credit, the purchase must be made at a brick and mortar store. Researching this, I discovered that "Small Business Saturday" is a registered trademark of AE. This I did not realize.
