I don't know exactly where to put this thread so I apologize if this isn't the best spot.

I was thinking it would be nice to have a thread where we could post all the good Black Friday specials that will inevitably show up (here's looking at you Jerry Busse). So post 'em if you got 'em.
 
Unfortunately, that probably won't fly. It's called deal-spotting and it's a no-no here. But I appreciate the thought. :)
 
If the vendors aren't supporting members, this is asking for trouble via deal spotting... careful with your wording.

I just read the forum rules and it says nothing about what I am trying to do here. And I would be more than happy to limit it to supporters of the site. I just want a single thread where we can find all we want in one spot. Instead of having to dig all though the site. I figure people would bring attention to some knife makers and dealers that others don't even know about. And we can leave specifics and price out of it. I kinda just wanted a heads up, like "check out (insert member's name here) page. Good stuff.

But if this is wrong mods I'm sorry.
 
Interesting. As I am pretty new to this knife hobby, do we normally see black Friday knifedeals? last year, I remember I saw some kershaw deals on the long river site, such as the blur.
 
Just for reference, General Knife Discussion is for discussing knives. If we are going to discuss sales, deals, buying, etc. that all belongs in the GBU. The very top of each forum explains what the content of that section is about.
 
Like im gonna wait on some special once a year Holliday sale to buy the knives that I NEED RIGHT NOW!! :)

I would agree with this statement
As for Black Friday deals in general-I won't even be looking. Most of what I buy is priced fixed and would never make it to such sales. Others may find it useful.
 
I think there is always some kind of sale at most of the major vendors, but it may not apply to all that appealing of products, at least in my opinion. I believe BladeHQ is introducing a new variation of the Boker Kwaiken on Black Friday only but haven't heard of any other specials.

Not always true, I learned that the hard way last year.
I was geekin' for an 0550bw all November, spending all day and night refreshing the for sale section here hoping to snag one.
I finally got tired of obsessing and paid full retail at bladehq (a dealer exclusive) 2 days before Thanksgiving. $220
I really didn't expect them to ever go on sale because of ZT's MAP.
I found out a few months later that because the 0550 was discontinued, they went on sale 3 days after I bought mine for $150.
A $70 difference!!!
I can't tell you how pissed I was when I found that out. :mad: :mad: :mad:
