"Black Gold" Bowie Knife

Here's a nice Bowie I just finished up and got back from Paul for his great sheath work. I may have to send this one out for pix because mine just aren't doing this one justice. I hope you like her.

OK, it's not gold. This 8 1/2" Bowie blade is forged from 5160 high carbon steel, edge-quenched with acid soaked, forge finished flats and a hand-rubbed finish. The oval guard, throat spacers and pin are "stippled/textured" silica bronze. The handle is stabilized Medium Ebony wood with a textured pommel end. The center throat spacer is black Micarta and the overall length is 14 1/4". This Bowie comes with a tooled leather blade sheath by Paul Long of Kerrville, Texas.

lovely. that's a bowie's bowie. I can't remotely afford it, but that is just beautiful. Clean and simple, nothing too dramatic or fancy. It's not a piece of art that happens to be a knife, it's a knife that happens to be a piece of art.
