I haven't decided yet on the scales..... Was throwing around the idea like peterj did with dye.....I also have some micarta and g-10 laying around that I could use but not sure it would look right. Hummmmmm......what to do????
 
hummmmm...don't have any of that laying around the shop....but that would be interesting.
 
I will start looking about and see what I can find. Thanks for the suggestions and as always.....I love to get feedback and suggestions for future work.
 
does anyone know where to find something like that?? I looked at a few knife makers supplies catalogs and web sites and can't seem to find a true clear acrylic handle material.
 
check your local yellow pages for plastics suppliers.
if you can't find acrylic, you may be able to find some 1/4" thick polycarbonate scraps.
just be careful - PC does not like a lot of solvents.
If you have absolutely no luck on your end, PM me and I'll pick some up the next time I'm in Wichita. (there's an aircraft manufacturing salvage yard - callet "The Yard Store" - all sorts of cool materials laying around)
 
you could buy plexiglass or lexan at lowe's or home depot, they have a clear adhesive for it too, if you need thicker scales than the sheets come in.
 
That is the same thing Dad said last night!! Going to look today if I get done working on the basement at a reasonable hour today.
 
nope....didn't happen today. I have been working on the basement all day aka "The Shop".
Building a bigger and better spray area, work benchs, storage......Still got a lot to do tomorrow.

thanks Nokoff!! I have a bunch of knives laying around to work on. It helps when folks send me there stuff to experiment on as well!!
