Hey guys,

I have my second knife just about ready for a handle. Problem is it's a combat/military type knife for a relative who's a Marine and he suggested black. The only material color that I have which may be appropriate is what is in the title. I'm sure he will be pleased no matter what the color as long as it's nice. Not sure that I actually like it, though. Should I hold out and just buy some more black or give this a shot. If anyone had a finished knife with these scales I would be very appreciative if you could share.

Why not ask him?

I'd personally opt for coyote or natural as it matches both of their uniforms, their gear, as well as most environments.

However, maybe he doesn't care or just likes black.

We generally just spray painted everything, anyway. Seems like the right choice would be what he's asking for!

You can get some black canvas for only a few bucks. The black/green/tan is awesome too tough, I really like it.

This pic doesn't show the color, the green and tan/natural are very much like any micarte you see. Black G10 is a lot easier to work but this does have the cool factor.

Strider, shoot a PM, I have some Tan Micarta (its true micarta and older than dirt) that you can have, just cover shipping.

*Do talk to him though, some units end up spray painting their gear to match their uniforms/ vest.
