Received a black rubber handled KaBar #1211 recently. 2 questions:
1. Are its handle lengths purposely made shorter than its old stand by stacked leather washer model? Mine is for sure. Doesn' t look like a tolerance/ manufacture thing as it is quite a bit shorter. Comfortable though.
2. Are the black rubber handles tightly pressure fitted onto its blade tang? Mine gives a hollow sound on one side when rapped on with my knuckle. Seems like a potential problem. It may work loose over time and corrosion may set in as well. The stacked leather model is tenfold more solid.
What' s your experience?
