black kershaw shallot slow!!

It could also be a worn torsion bar..depending how old the knife is the bar could be just worn out from sitting closed for awhile and just needs a replacement.

What chester was saying is if it sets for a long time in the box closed still new just setting on the shelf for 5 yrs in a closed position the t- bar can deform to that bent shape and resist opening fully.

I recently bought a new burnt orange blur that was sitting in the box since 2009. I had to replace the t-bar because it was bent from not being used and stored closed so long. Not all t-bars do this but some do.

The top T-bar is bent from original position and was in the brand new knife.

im not sure if it is the t-bar or not, it feels like there is a lot of resistance when i open the knife slowly. im thinking of taking the torsion bar out then putting the knife back together to see if it is the problem, but what it feels like it that the washers around the knife and pivot are rubbing extremely hard on each other, as if the pivot is really tight, but i loosened it untill the side of the blade hits the side of the handles, it is still so slow though -_-
