These blocks are ones that I just sent in to K&G for stabilizing. The wood is Black Palm that has been cut at a steep diagonal cut to show off the leopard spots without sacrificing the strength like happens if it is just crosscut. This type of black palm will show a golden metallic flash around the spots when the light hits it. The wood will be darker when stabilized and finished.

Some of these blocks are already spoken for but there are still 12 of the black and white, and 20 of the black ones available.
Dimensions are 6" x 1&3/8" x 1&1/8"

By purchasing the blocks now you get them at the discounted price of $25 each. After they arrive back here they will be selling for $30 each. They should be ready in about 3 weeks.

US Shipping is Free. International shipping is $10 for up to 6 blocks.

When you decide how many you want just post the number and whether you want black/white ones or all black.

I sanded one of each so you can get a better idea what they will be like. After stabilizing they will be a bit darker than the photo.

I think maybe you like this stuff Phil. You already have a bunch of these if I remember correctly. Maybe I should set aside another 6 of them for when you finally give in.

They are 6" long x 1&3/8" wide x 1&1/8" thick
 
Wow, I was just thinking about this stuff and you posted some blocks! I had some put on a balisong and it looks amazing:

I am pretty sure Chuck Bybee at Alpha Knife Supply has some Red Palm. He mentioned it one time when we talked. Might be worth making a phone call: 425-868-5880 . They are super nice people there.

JayinHK, I sure would like to see a photo of the entire Bali.

If anyone else has a photo of a knife you made using the black palm from previous batches, feel free to post it here so the other guys can see how this unusual wood looks on a knife. I like to see them too!

Chuck at Alpha is my anger management counselor. Not really. In my first couple years here there was another dealer that would take jabs at me once in a while. When that would happen Chuck would call me to reassure me and stick up for me. He is one of my best friends I have never actually met. If I remember correctly, you have been an advocate and encouragement for me as well. Thanks

I'll take some better pics when the sun comes up! I'm not a good enough photographer to capture the true beauty of the wood, but Mr Carpenter did a damn fine job on both the knife and the pics!

Got to feed my habit, I'll take 4 of the black blocks. By the way I donated a couple of these blocks to an auction at the ABS West Coast Hammer-in in Visalia and if I remembers correctly they went for over $50 a piece.

I'd love two black and whites, please. If possible, could you please cut them into 3 even slices instead of 2? That would be awesome!
