Anyone have a source for black micarta tube? The natural is easy enough to get ahold of from McMaster or a knife supply, but I can't find black without a huge minimum order. Also I've been using carbon fiber, but looking for something with a thicker wall

Carbon arrow shafts are hard to beat, want it thinner? sand it from the inside. You
can pretty much get any wall thickness you want.
Ken.

Oops My bad... you typed tube my brain read rod ... might help me to read more carefully next time.
I use carbon fiber tubes because it's hard to find black micarta tubes. Try Makers Material Supply on eBay.

If ordering from industrial suppliers, like McMaster-Carr, it is called Garoloite.

Unfortunately I'm looking for a thicker wall than I can find in carbon fiber. The natural micarta tube I use is 5/16" OD and 3/16" ID. Never thought it would be so hard to find the same in black

Do you flare them or rely on epoxy to hold them in place?
Just epoxy.

Robert, it's all good. I appreciate the reply anyways!

Still looking for black tubing. There has to be somewhere that offers canvas or linen tube in black without a 1000'+ minimum.

Prolly not what you're looking for, but if you need a chit load, get a cheap ass HF lathe and make your own. Or use your drill press.

I was just thinking that I could probably turn one 6" long on the pen lathe in a few minutes. Drill out a piece of round stock to the desired ID, chuck it up, and turn to OD size.
