Could I use black oxide in place of cold blu for this diy tutorial on bleach etching? Also could I sandblast with alum oxide between etching the logos with pcb and etching the blade with bleach (to take the stock paint off)? Or will it round off the edges of the logo etching to much? Can anyone recommend a chemical stripper for the stock paint on an ESEE 5? Would brake cleaner work?

For those that don't know - black oxide is a non toxic reusable substance that is better than cold blu but not quite as good as hot blue or park. It's used to refinish rifles so I assume it would be fine on a knife. I've used it extensively on AK builds. It's amazing stuff. I know several pro builders that use it. For ease of use. And as a more durable coating than cold blu. It comes out a little blacker than the cold blu's grey/black color.

PS - I asked this question as part of another larger thread. But it kind of got buried and I never got an answer. Thought I would repost with a more specific question and title.
