Greetings and salutations to all! Here’s a new mid-sized version of my Black River Hunter for your consideration, named after my favorite place on earth in eastern Arizona.

Steel is 1/8” x 1 1/2”in 52100 steel with professional HT at 60/61. Hand sanded to 1200 grit for a fine satin finish. The edge was around .012” before sharpening, it balances on the spacers and the swedge flares at the tip for extra strength.

Dimensions:9 1/4” OAL, Tip to Scales 4 1/2”

Scales are Ironwood and K&G dyed Japanese Privet, sculpted for a very comfortable fit. Accented with orange and white fiber liners. It’s sanded to 1200 grit with brass and mosaic pins and 1/4” lanyard tube. The sheath is a snug fit yet easy to deploy.

Still using imgur until the owner resolves the photo limit issue. Imgur compresses (a lot). If you want full resolution images I'll get 'em to ya.

Price is $190 to your US door, and of course your satisfaction is my only priority. Paypal (G&S Only please), check or MO, and the price includes fees and free shipping in the US.

Thanks so much for looking and please feel free to ask anything here or via PM.

I'm saving for one of those. Ever thought about doing a mini version, aroound 3.5'' blade? It would be a sales hit, and it would make a great collection for sick people like me :)

Wow, I think this is a really slick version of your iconic Black River knives! Outstanding with the contrasting handle parts and eyecatching liners. Just guessing but this size looks just right for my hand. Jeepers, John. You are killing me here. Again!

Hi Thanks for all the kind comments and likes everyone. As for a smaller version I'd have to call it a micro, since I already did a small one with a 4" blade I called mini, but it's now on the to do list and a good viable idea so thanks for that.

Still checking this one out. This is a perfect size for me, I suspect. My Black River Hunter with Japanese privet scales is splendid too, but my hand wants one of these as well. Can't argue with that as my brain concurs. My wallet put the brakes on this one, spoilsport that it is.

Same. I want one of these models. But I’ve spread myself too thin lately. I own two of John’s knife and gifted a third and they are all terrific. It’s and absolute head scratcher that this one, for such a great price, is still here. Segmented scales, beautiful liners, great steel, mosaic pins, awesome maker. Heck the leather work alone is worth the cost of the whole package. John if I had it this one would already be mine.
