i can't recall where but i heard a rumor that there are plans for a black version of the brad southard flipper.

true or false?

if true would that be a DLC or are we just talking about black scales?

thanks in advance for any information provided.

Shouldn't be too hard to dye the G10 a different color. I'll post pictures in about a week when I'm home and have time to do it. I don't really like the brown so I'll be making them black.

that doesn't mean it's not true :)

perhaps the man himself will chime in when he has time.

No, but no one else seems to have rememered the rumor yet, and it would be odd to see a variation when they haven't even finished with the initial production run.

again, that doesn't mean it's not true (because the 5 people that posted in here haven't heard of it).

someone saying "never heard of it" doesn't really answer the question because they don't know (just as i don't know).

we're talking about a rumor here and i totally understand that we're on the first run (i've had mine for a week and anticipated it for almost a year) but that doesn't mean there's no plans for it in the future.

thanks

:)

This thread actually got me interested in an aftermarket DLC coating so I can dye the scales black and have a murdered out southard. I can't really find any custom makers that do it, and I'd have to change the screw colors as well as the standoffs..so it sounds like a lot of work.

My vote goes for a production / limited edition black on black southard :)
sal if you're watching, please sign me up for two.

Yeah, but a rumor that you half remember doesn't qualify as much of a lead on a variation on a just-introduced model, either.

I've not read anything about a Southard variation of any kind either (including a blacked out version).

i get it, you haven't heard anything but you also have no clue.

wonderful, and thank you for chiming in.

my question is better suited for people that know whether the rumor is true.

i apologize if this thread is upsetting you.

if you haven't heard of it just say so and move on.

it wouldnt qualify as a rumor if i knew exactly where it came from and how true it was (thus the question)...

thanks

I have not seen any indication or thread stating that a black version is on the way. But I have read that the person in charge of the project (I believe Eric is the one heading the project) has control of any future variants but no official statement has been made to that effect.
