My First try at a panel sheath with Black Tail Rattle Snake
underlay.
Should I try more??
The knife is a Kevin Casey out of NH.

Very pretty!! The contrast in color and texture between the leather and skin insert really sets each one off nicely. The stippled effect of the stitching rows along the edge of the sheath echoes and carries the texture of the skinsert (my own word :D ) to beyond the skin itself, thereby serving to visually integrate the sheath as a whole. I also like the flow of the design that leaves varying shaped windows through which the insert is seen.

I hate to say this, Dan, but I think you should send that one to Waukegan so I can throw it in the Lake for you...... :D

Nicely done. A cool sheath just makes a nice knife package glow....
I really like the overlay leather and how you've paneled it...

Thanks Guys
The guy picked it up a while ago
and liked it:D

it was a fun one to do..
:)

Get down, Daddy-o, you got the number! as Maynard G. Krebbs woulda said. That's truly rockin, I like all the parts and your serious carving on the cutouts. No holds barred on this bad boy! Good job Dan, I'm taking notes.

Thanks for sharing,
Dave

DAG ! here's another one I almost missed seeing. Absolutely carry on Dan. Really nice.

I gotta stop spending so much time in the woods and more here.

Dan, I knew you are good, but I didn't realize you are THAT GOOD! Just great, Dan! You been holding out on us, or holding back. Which is it?

Two thumbs up Dan'l!

I'm not real partial to snake skin (Linda abhors the live ones and even the thought of dead ones give her the heebie jeebies) but this is the second one in two days I've seen that sets of bells.

Very cool, I wish I had the patience to do that, hope you keep doing them, that is just way to cool
