Sorry for the bad pic. I will try to take some better ones today.
4 1/2 forged 1075 blade, flat ground with convex edge, 1000 grit hand rubbed finish, stainless guard and pin, handle made from some of Don Hanson's Ozark figured black walnut. The sheath is a Treestump border stamped pouch.
"SOLD" to one of our cousins across the pond

I like that knife style from tip to butt, also like the nice SS quard you used

What is the overall and handle length plz?

That is a great looking knife. I bet Ray loves it because it looks like a mini version of his bowies.:D
That walnut is spectacular and it is a handsome knife.

Joe, if you wouldn't mind, take some pics of that all important solder joint / ricasso-guard junction.

No solder. I used JB Weld, and as i am new at this, you do see a bit of black on one side.:grumpy: This is a user.

here's an unsolicited comment :).

I handled this knife at the Blade show. It is very well made and certainly worth more than the asking price. As I recall the fit was good.

While I don't see "Ray's influence," it certainly is classic ABS.

Matt

Damn that's fine! I'm liking the shades of color in that walnut! Absolutely stunning:thumbup: !

Thank you, Counselor:D I cleaned up those pins after the show. And it appears that this puppy may be SOLD to a gentleman in the UK! This is my second knife that has been submitted for public consumption but the first one was a KITH knife, so this will be my first SALE!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!! :D That is a substantial hurdle for a knifemangler like myself:cool:

Longrifle,
The single pin and general shape of the handle is what I meant. Ray's knives all have that shape. So do others but I'm more famialar with Ray's.
I came within in one keystroke of taking this one myself. I'm glad it went to the UK. They need knives there since they can't own anything else except hammers and lead pipes.

LOL........But they can't really use their hammers or lead pipes for fear of having them classified as an "offensive weapon".......Actually, I am starting a "fifth column" with the intention of overthrowing the oppressive reign of the overpriced "bushcraft" knife in the UK. Once I consolidate my strategic gains in Old Blightly, I plan to turn my eye toward the continent where the evil "scandi" regime has help sway for much to long...today Blade Forums, tomorrow THE WORLD!!!!!! lol:D

Wow Joe, I didn't even know that was your first sale. You did a great job,. Congratulations man!
A while ago, I made a bowie for drducati that had a black walnut handle shaped like that one. They would have made a nice pair.:)

That's a fine looking knife. I wish I had seen it earlier!:D

That's why I had my eye on it!:D

Not to worry, Doc. There will be plenty more like this one. All of my hunters tend to end up looking like this....lol:D And I not only have a few more pieces of Don's black walnut, including one stabilized sample, but also some figured English walnut.
