If I had enough cash freed up I wouldn't hesitate to purchase that Bowie. I collect Bowies and I love the flow of this knife; nothing to distract the eye, pure form following function which produces a highly pleasing appearance. Congratulations on your wonderful knife.

Its awesome, if i dident have a lamey ordered allready id be al over this, cant belive its still here.

yeah im surprised its still here too, will cut with or outcut any of those $1000 "Bowies".

I'm not very schooled up on L6. How does it compair to something like W2? Corrosion resistance, edge retention and ability to take an edge? I've never played with L6 that I know of but I do have a pretty good feel for W2.
What about for extreme cold weather climates say -65 degrees?

Thanks,
Stefan

Stefan, L6 is good stuff, not sure why its not used more other then its not as readily available in larger sizes. Ive done some cutting with it and it cuts as good as any, and is hell for tough. I got this steel from Jason Knight, his opinion is that L6 makes the toughest big choppers. Ive not used it enough to have an opinion that strong, but will say its really good steel in all aspects. Not real sure about cold weather but im guessing it would be more than fine.

As far as practical use it seems very similar to W2.

I would have bought this one as well if I didn't already have something in the pipeline from Matt. Soon, soon . . .
