I wanted to know who is the best at wood stabilizing. I got my hands on some black walnut and want to have it stabilized, does it have to be cut first? If so how big of pieces can be done.it has been dried now for 8 years.

Cut it into handle sized blocks. 2x2x6 or so. You are charged by weight so get rid of the excess before you ship it. Seal the ends after you cut it into blocks. Even though it has been air drying for eight years, when you cut into it and ship it around the country, it can still check and split.
Black walnut takes a beautiful finish after stabilization.
