Blackhawk Airborne Deluxe Sheath

I have a few Spec Ops sheaths and also two Ka-Bar/Eagle Sheaths. I am not sure about the Blackhawk sheath but the thing to note is that the Spec Ops are made for a 0.25" blade thickness, while the Eagle sheath supplied with the Ka-bar does not accommodate the thicker blades as well. I used an SOG Tech Bowie (0.24" thick) in an Eagle Sheath and it was a tighter fit, but manageable.

Both sheaths were well made.

I bought one of the Airborne sheaths for a USAF pilots survival knife. The pocket is very limited in size, or was on mine, but other than that, it seemed OK to me. When I sold the knife, the sheath went with it.

I have a Blackhawk sheath at home and a Carbon V Recon Tanto. I will try to remember to check the fit this evening and post about it here.

In terms of quality, the Blackhawk sheaths are pretty nice. I prefer the Spec-Ops sheaths but the Blackhawks are very nice and have more attachment options. They do not accomodate \"tall\" blades but that shouldn\'t be an issue for a Recon Tanto.

Okay, I checked it out and it's a very nice fit with no rattle because it is actually a bit snug towards the tip.
