Has anybody had any experience with the Blackhawk BHB40 Folding Tanto bladed knife. Would appreciate any input. It doesn't seem to be too bad IMHO.

Thanks

Had one, wasn't that impressed. Seemed rather unrefined compared to similar offerings in that price range. Sent it back.

I agree, after EDC for couple days, decided it was a time for change, unable to open easily will be probably sell it.

Thanks Again for the post.

in that price range, I'd say Byrds, BM Vex, and several Kershaws would be a better buy. Honestly, for $30 or so you can get a really nice AUS 8 Browning Airlight that is sharp, holds and edge, and is fun to use. Lots of choices. I think Blackhawk has really been missing the boat lately with their 'budget' knives... Silent Partner, and the one we've been talking about. For the price of their Kalista, you can get an Emerson or Fallkniven easily. So I don't see what their strategy is.

I have a bhb40, and I really like it. For the money, and if you like tantos, I highly recommend it. I guess I'm in the minority on this one.

I myself do not have the BH40... but I do have the BH41. I love the knife and would use it for Everyday carry. I am not concerned with "fast opening" complaints and I like how the blade can be sharped to a very high degree a sharpness and can hold that edge very well.

I recently ordered two new SOG Fusion Salutes, around the same price. Solid, tough folder, G10 handles, same steel as Spyderco Byrd series, I think this would be a good choice in the same price range for a defensive folder (or otherwise).
