Hi All,

I am a looking for a fixed blade for edc and am looking at the blackhawk Crucible FX. The sheath has some great carry options but I am left handed and cant tell if the stock sheath is ambidextrous.

Does anyone know?

thanks

Yes the TCCS system allows for left or right side carry that's how you get over 70 different carry positions. So don't worry it will work left handed.

Never owned rat so can't compare but I personally like the VG10 blade on my MOD FX better than I like 1095 carbon steel, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it I own plenty of Kabars with this steel (and I love them) I just prefer VG10.

Unless you are buying the FX2 then it's AUS8A which I still don't mind holds a fine enough edge for my tastes. It also comes down to what the knife will be used for is it a defensive/tactical knife or is it hard use. Because if it is hard use RAT would be the best choice just from their warranty alone.

I believe correct me if I'm wrong that even if you break your RAT and it's your fault they will replace it that alone is worth getting it. The choice is only up to you but for defensive/light utility work the blackhawk will serve you admerably but for a major all use knife get a RAT!

^ I agree with Gear upstairs!

I've only held both so I can't give you much info by way of real-world testing, but for EDC/defensive chores, it's the FX. For the tough field chores, anything by RAT has been proven in their own excursions into the wild!
