I had a Hornet 2, I was not at all impressed. It came with 2nd thickest edge I have ever had on a knife and the thickest I have ever had on a folder. It also has a crappy black coating that is basically just black paint.
I also handled there assisted opening model and thought it was a rip off considering they want a $100+ for a mediocre knife with just 440c and slick zytel handles.

Are you talking about the original MOD Point Man? The Blackhawk folders are redo's of the original MOD series of knives. They have been done Taiwan/China, not sure which, and have G-10 over steel frames with AUS8 blade steel. I believe I would go for the MOD over the Blackhawk as the price difference would be worth it, it seems.
