I could use some help identifying the blade material on a Blackie Collins / Meyerco Necklance neck knife.
The published specs I’ve found all seem to describe these as having 440 stainless blades with glass-filled nylon handles and sheaths. Mine matches the Necklance pattern, with the dark blade, center ridge, partially serrated edge, ribbed molded handle, and matching molded neck sheath.
The odd thing is that the blade on mine does not react to a magnet. The handle and sheath are clearly molded synthetic, but I’m testing the blade itself and getting no magnetic pull.
Were any of these ever made with a ceramic, composite, or other non-magnetic blade material? Or is there another known explanation for a non-magnetic blade on this model?
I’m not trying to hype it as rare without proof. I’m just trying to identify it accurately before listing or describing it. Any catalog info, dealer references, or firsthand knowledge would be appreciated.
