The Blackjack Co. is coming to life again under new ownership..so to speak! I just saw a couple of the most awesome new models of the Trailguide.....which were on their way to the Bladeshow in Atlanta!!!! Ken Warner is reviving the Blackjack name..which he bought after the company went bankrupt...and the quality of the knives is definitely still there!! If you are going to the Bladeshow, stop by Knifeware Inc.'s booth and check them out! They aren't on his knifeware.com website yet...but will be!

The blade steel in the new Blackjacks..the TRAILGUIDE II & TRAILGUIDE III, is 52-100.
They are convex grind, and the blade is about a quarter inch longer than the original Trailguide. The #2 has a single guard (stainless steel) and the #3 has a double guard (SS) and has double edge! (partial on top edge). I saw one with a black stacked leather handle...Ya gotta see these! I didn't get to hold them long...Warner was afraid I would drool on them too much (or cut myself and bleed on them)...but long enough to know that they are high quality!

No doubt made by the folks at Marbles. I have been expecting this since I talked with Ken last year. Any idea what the prices will be?

Regards,

Tom Carey

Yes Tom, Marbles is making the new knives. Ken also got a couple of exclusive Marbles models made...one with buffalo horn...smooth, not the jigged horn like in the catalog..and a couple of others. I was so overwhelmed I forgot to ask prices!!! When he gets back from the Bladeshow, I will call and get details for those of us who weren't lucky enough to get to go!

I am also guessing that the folders with the AUS10 blades will be made in Japan. I was really hoping someone would have pics from the show. No BlackJack collector's at the show? Someone has to have pics.

Blackjack ressurected? That's good news. I must confess a weakness for covex ground fixed blades made from 52100.

Hmm...I hope they make their military style knives again. Had the chance to buy some years ago, but waited too late.ugh

Ok...got the prices for the new Blackjack Trailguides. They sell for $150 each. The II, has a tan stacked leather handle, and the III has the black stacked leather. I will try to post a pic of one in the next couple of days...

Mebbe I missed it, but from where would these be available? Marbles directly, or another website or...?

Pix, yes please! I got on these forums just as Blackjack was fading out and people were lamenting their passing. I never got a chance to see the much talked about Trailguide, and I'm currently looking for something in that genre

Thanks!
