AUS10 has a higher carbon content and a tad more Chrome.
My own expectation is that the AUS10 would be the better steel based on composition. But I have no performance data to support my expectation. And of course all bets are off until you know the hardness.
I betcha Sal knows which cuts better, assuming optimal heat treat for both. Spyderco Byrds use 8Cr13MoV and Spyderco made the Native II in AUS10.
"In God I trust, all others bring data."
That means I put data before theory.
Sorry Mr. Glesser, I don't mean to put any pressure on. Like so many others, I'm a steel junky at heart, but have no wallet to support what I wish were my habit.
