Blacksite Carbon Sebenza 25

son of a.......i wasn't thinking of getting a seb 25 yet, but after seeing your scale on it, my interest just super piqued......great work Mr. H

Thanks everybody for all the positive feedback. And thanks for all the PMs and emails. One of these days I'll get caught up and be able to make some more of these;)

Barry that looks STUNNING! I can't wait to get it back.. You did an excellent job! Thank you again :-D

I think the 25 in CF looks a lot better than the 21. Barry thanks for sharing your work with us. It is spectacular as always.

Thanks! This stuff has amazing translucence. I'm pretty sure I'll be using a lot of Blacksite material from this point on.

Looks awesome Barry! What is a good email address I can contact you at to ask you a few questions? Thanks in advance.

Looks great !
I also prefer a satin, or dullish look on CF. A high polish CF finish just doesn't look as good to me.

Amazing work! I agree that the finish you put on it looks amazing, but better than a bright polished look.

I fall into the category of those who were never really impressed with the CF sebenzas...until this one!

Great job with some really stellar looking material. I agree with others in that the 'satin' finish is 100x more appealing than a glossy CF finish.

Beautiful work...

That looks great! My Des Horn Imvubu uses Blacksite CF and it just feels and looks like class. Well done Mr. H.

One question. How was it to work with for you?

It seems extremely stiff, stiffer than other carbon. When drilling it, though, it seemed fuzzier (if that makes any sense). It seemed to sand through the grits fairly well.

I have some more material coming from Blacksite, arriving around May 1. The material coming is their 690 weave. The material I used on this knife was the 670, a little bigger weave.

Mr. H.

Blacksite is a funny material in my limited experience as well. It can seem slippery to the eye, yet it can give traction, it is a material that feels "lively" in the hand.

For reference, here is the knife I have using Blacksite.

It looks like it was put on a CNC machine. Do you do all your work by hand? If so, WOW.

WOW indeed. Mr. H does all his work by hand to my knowledge. Have a look at his photos of his tools in his photobucket link in his signature.

True enough, all my work is done by hand: My primary tools are a drill press, combination belt/disc sander, and a flex shaft dremel tool. I also have a very good shop vac for the dust I produce:eek:

Barry,
Although, I'm new to this forum and Sebenza ownership (less than a year) I can certainly appreciate the time, craftsmanship, and patience necessary for such a beautiful finished product. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
