Forged from a big file, started out as a Bowie and cracked in salt water quench so I cut it off at crack and forged this big Skinner.
9" overall - blade is 3 1/2" x 2"
I found the broken antler hanging in a fence during a fly fishing trip, if you
look closely there is a rust stain around it from the fence.
Bolster is poured Pewter from a cup.
Cedar knot on butt and a bead on the sheath from the same knot.
Sheath is rawhide over veg-tan, stitched with linen and a few leather thongs
Finished with homebrew dye, dirt, grease and varnish

$100.00 shipped Paypal or MO

I really like the knife Randy - I have a good friend in Georgia that forges primitive style knives - One year I was back there & he was just finishing up a knife - I told him that it was but ugly - That i had never seen a knife that ugly before - well you know what came in the mail a few months later as a Christmas present - Yep - that ugly old knife - it's so ugly it's beautiful - I have worked hard to give my engraving style a primitive look - I catch heck from some of my fellow engravers but I’m happy with what I do - here's a pix of a very old Ruana, Bonners Ferry, Idaho - i engraved, it was forged from a Studabaker spring & the guard was model T pistons! Thats all the old man Ruana would use - I think you will enjoy the pix - tom
