Cash? Well, thankfully Busse takes credit cards at the show!! Honestly, if you plan to buy from independent knife makers, bring all the cash you have. I have no idea what your tastes are, but I know it was VERY difficult scrounging up $1200 for a knife I wanted from a Japanese bladesmith. All the ATM's I found in the area were tied to the same bank and were limited to $200 or $400 a day, I can't remember which. I don't recall any banks being in walking distance either.

My heart skip a beat when I found out i had to be at Myrtle beach w/ my family for a family vacation. That just sucks. Have a great time and drink some beer n playing w/ some BUSSE for me

We can't wait to see everyone again! Blade 2013 is going to be amazing

Yep, nice nuggets of info. here for those who have never been and wonder how to finance things.

This is not everyone's method, but I roll with $2,500 / day for knives and a couple Bens for per diem expenses as not everything takes cards, but most everything does take cash.

If I buy something on day one, I replenish the cash for day 2. It allows me the ability to buy a couple nice pieces or several items, lots of flexability. Plus if you must have a MOAB, you still can swing a sweet folder if your lotto ticket pays off. And the even better part is you DO NOT have to spend it all, but it's on-hand if you find that special item you just have to have.

I fully realize $2,500 is a lot of money, but the question was how much to bring and this is just one suggestion. I have seen so much ATM frustration at Blade that I'll just say plan ahead.

The fact is that with the Busse crowd you don't NEED to bring ANY money to have a good time. It is like a fraternity party and a family reunion rolled in to one. Now if you WANT to buy a bunch of stuff then you need money. The friend that got me into going to BLADE every year probably doesn't spend more than $300 inside the BLADE show on an average year. I spend...................a bunch more than that.

It's such a great time, I can't wait to see everyone again. Thanks for sharing the pictures Rob!

My Tastes are $$$ unfortunately I got a Busse and and a Cas chopper now thats all I want. Good thing I just got an extra part time design gig. I figured at least 1k but I know I'll spend it all the first day and find the one I really want the next.
