Blade 2014 Congradulations to Mike Quesenberry on his MS Stamp

The three test knives of Mike's that I got to see are nothing short of exquisite in every detail. Both daggers and the dog bone bowie showed how much talent this gentleman Smith has mastered. Getting to see them is a memorable highlight of the show for me as was getting to meet Mike. Thank you Mike and Joe.

That is an awesome knife! I don't use that term much but it applies this time. Congratulations Mike and thanks Joe!

Mike,

Congratulations on your MS stamp, and the B.R. Hughes award.

Jon,

Congrats on the impeccable Dogbone, so very nice.

Doug

Thanks, Joe, and big congrats to my man Mike. The MS is well deserved! I still have some of the Bookers left from Little Rock . . .
I'll hoist one (or maybe a couple :D) tonight in your honor. Way to go!

First I would like to congratulate mike publicly, although I did it yesterday. As you may or may not know I have been blowing the trumpet for Mike now for a few years. After buying my very first Quesenberry knife I knew this guy was producing something special and now have quite a few of his pieces in my collection which I am very proud to own. There was no doubt in my mind that he would not get his MS as his work has been to such a high standard for so many years now.
I was privileged to have a sighting of the gauche knife before the show and told him that it would be a winner!

A big thanks to Joe to for the vids and his enthusiasm is great to see. We could do with more guys like him promoting our great hobby/addiction!

Bravo, Congrats, same word for a well deserved price. This "Main gauche" is a marvel. Thanks to Joe to allow us to discover it..

Beers are on me! Next time there's a chance :)
Blade's a better venue for this kind of thing anyway, just as well things were postponed.

Joe thanks for doing this video. Mike thanks for sharing the journey with all of us. I'm excited to see your next project.

See you soon

Bing

Mike knows how I feel, I was the first to shake his hand when he came out of the testing room. I was able to handle all the knives and they where all great. Mike took the dagger apart for me so I could see all its inner workings very cool. Joe sorry I did not get by to do a video I just did not feel like rapping this year but next year will get one done, and A Big congratulations to Mike for a job well done.

I am so very proud of my good friend Mike Quesenberry!!! :D :D :D

He has quickly climbed to a place where he is making, IMHO, some of the best forged knife work available, period.

His work is both technically difficult and VERY VERY VERY WELL DONE!!!!

Standing behind Mike's table this past weekend, I can't count the number of times I broke out my, "This is an integral, Mike forged this knife from one solid billet of steel...." explanation.

MOST of the time, the BR Hughes award is awarded to an applicant for their Quillon dagger... but Mike got the award for his Dog-bone Bowie because it was such a technically difficult piece and his construction/execution is simply amazing. I wanna be like Mike when I grow up.  :)

Another thing that I truly admire about Mike, is that while he is one of the most talented makers in the room (wherever he's at) he only speaks of his work with passion... never arrogance or conceit!!! He is just as good of a person as he is a bladesmith. I'm proud to call him friend. :)

Congratulations Mike!
In my eyes you earned the rating years ago.
Looks like it's time to update your website Mr Big Shot Master Blade Smith.
ABS site is already showing you as a Master Blade Smith.

Mike, blown away by your test knives! Congratulations, again, and keep pounding away. I love your work.

I finally saw Coops amazing photo of the Dogbone. Now I'm even more anxious to get it this thursday. I'd post the photo in a heart beat but Mike probably wants to post them all together when he has them so, I'll hold out.
