Blade changes...

It just rubs me the wrong way that I can't get a spa treatment on a swapped blade, even if I send them both in together.
Every time someone brings up this topic it reminds me of the fact.

I'm not dissatisfied with the knives as a whole.
Quite obviously they are excellent.

Mike, then we're all happy right. You're satisfied etc.. I say we buy our CRK's in the configuration we want them to be in form the original order. That's what I do. I wouldn't consider swapping blades on mine - why? If a blade breaks Chris will re-blade you I think? For a fee - which is fair. :)

Couldn't hurt to try it out and see how they both fit. If they fit good and lockup is good on both then go for it.

I agree.

They're your knives, do what you want with them.

That said, if you do sell off a modded knife, full disclosure would be the only ethical way to go.

I've done it, both blades locked up perfectly with the other lock bar, rock solid !
While I didn't edc the knives in this configuration or do any real cutting I can say that as long as you keep each blade with its original bushing and washers, which is what I did ( as well as a buddy of mine who swapped a few blades ) you should find it to be just fine.
As far as warranty goes, it's up to you if you tell them the truth, that's each mans decision in life and I won't give any advice there since its your business.
That said, have you ever needed the CRK warranty? I've never read a thread where somebody needed the warranty due to a manufacturing problem.

Have fun, make what you desire. It's only money !

Well spoken my friend. I've done the blade swap on several Sebs. A few worked perfectly and others wouldn't. I never had a problem with bushings or "rock lock"(not sure what that means?). But you know right away if the blade won't fit the handle.

Hey Mike, if you wish...just put both knives back to original configuration. Send both in to CRK for Spa. When they come back, change 'em any way you want them.

I've swapped some of mine and they fot perfectly, with one exception. I have a 21 blade in Regular handles, and that's not a great fit. It's OK, but I'd never sell the knife like that. I kept the 21 with the Regular blade that was also created, and would swap back to sell or service.

Thanks.
I will one day.
I'm a little reluctant to send them both in, because it is possible that Australia Customs could confiscate them on the return.
Although I've never had any dramas to date.

Maybe I'll be in the States one day and I will send them in then, so that I can hand carry them back.

I'm not unhappy.
Just had a bad day and am whining really.
