blade coating

I personally would not buy a knife with a coating, I would look around and find the same make and model knife without the coating. I like the shine of a steel blade, and like someone mentioned earlier, once that coating wears it looks like hell. I feel the same about a serrated or combo edge knife. I would not buy a combo edge knife, If i like that knife, I would find the same model in a straight edge knife that I can sharpen to a razors edge that will shave hair.

Silly thing.

Some buy knives with coatings and then spend the time to remove them.

Others buy knives without coatings and then spend time to force a patina on them.

I just like knives.

And then the super crazies like me who strip the coating and then put a patina back on.
