Blade Coatings???

I have a few "satin finished" blades that I would like to add a protective coating to... a black epoxy coating similar to what TOPS, or Busse, or even Becker uses.

Does anyone know exactly what these black "epoxy" coatings are? Is there someplace I can buy something similar?? and coat them myself???

I've looked all over the net and can only find people that *Do* the coating, I haven't found anything that is a do-it-yourself solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've done some research on coating for Guns.

From what I've found out Brownell's Gun Kote is the way to go.

Brownells sells it in an aerosol. But you can also buy it in liquid, if you have an airbrush. It's available in a number of colors.

I believe it is the same stuff Wilson uses on their custom .45s. I have one and the stuff is great. But I don't have a knife with it.

KG Industries lists knives as an application. And Chris Reeves is listed as a customer. So,....

Please let me know if you try it.
