In the past couple years my affinity for knives and the act of collecting them has increased exponentially. For someone who has fallen in love with the knife industry, the BLADE show in Atlanta would naturally be a mandatory experience at some point. I had plans to go to the 2008 show and went as far as making reservations at the hotel of the Cobb Convention center, but unfortunately had to cancel last minute. So, it turns out that after missing BLADE for the past couple years, i am actually going to be in Portland through the weekend of this upcoming BLADE West. I noticed on the BLADE magazine site that the show in Atlanta is 108,000 square feet vs. the "meager" 15,000 of the West show. My question is: for anyone that has been to both, what can i expect from the West show?-as compared to the main show in Atlanta? Will many of my favorites such as Busse, Spyderco,RAT,etc.(as well as many custom makers-Hinderer, Terzuola, Mayo, etc.) be in attendance? Should i just skip it and wait till next years show in Atlanta to "pop my cherry"???? any input is greatly appreciated.
