Anyone ever have a blade crack or delam during tempering? It made it through the quench no problem. I was attempting to san mai roller bering steel between some ss screw damascus. Welded and forged just fine. Was trying to quench for the core steel. I suspect it was made of 52100. I wonder if the bearing steel was stainless though. It was nice and hard after the quench and sounded like glass when i file checked. No wiggles after the quench, no cracks that i could see.
