Well, my friend Lin Rhea won the cutting competiton today at Blade in Atlanta. He was using a 5160 blade that held the edge test through all events.

He and Burt Foster were in a final showdown, but Lin pulled it off after Burt failed to cut through the projected 3 sisal 1" ropes (he only missed it by a couple of "strings".

Congrats my friend........ You did a great job, and it was nice to see you once again.

I Got To Watch Some Of The Competition, Board Chop And Rope On A
Thread, Got To Hot Outside To Watch The Rest. Burt Foster Went
Through The Board In Just Over 9 Sec. Reggie Barker Went Through In
Just Under 9 Sec. When Burt Foster Did The Rope On A Thread, you
Could Hear The Harmonic Ring Of The Blade When It Sliced Through,
Same With Reggie Barker, After That I Was Ready For Some Cold
Air And Went Back To The Show. This Was My First Trip To Blade.
I Met Raymond Richard, Ed Caffrey, Dean Ellis, Bill Sowell,
Kathleen Tomey, And A Few More. Deffinetly Will Return Next Year.

Yep, both Burt and Lin did a great job.

This was the first time I've seen Lin's work in person, he had some designs I really liked, good workmanship too. He also won the "Antique Bowie" award for the reproduction he posted not too long ago.
