Blade Finish Question?

I've been thinking about getting another sebenza and since I haven't owned one for quite a few years now I was wondering when and why they changed from the satin finished blades to the stonewashed ones I see now. Is this a cost-cutting measure? I would think a knife of this quality ( and price) would have at least a satin finished blade. The stonewash looks kind of cheap in my opinion.

Many people like the stonewashed finish because after hard use, the blade doesn't show scratches as readily. Others like it because of the low reflectivity. For those that prefer a polished finish with plain handles, it can be special ordered. The polished finish is standard on all other models.

All that makes sense. I just never thought of a sebenza as a hard use knife.
