I know the topic has been done to death, and I offer apologies. BUT since people change finish preferences, more often than a woman changes outfits, I am looking for the current "trend"
what finish do you prefer.... and why.
I like the look of bead blasted but find they rust too easy.
Love the way mirror finish looks, but for a serious using knife they get scratched up too easy.
Tried some blade coatings(gun Kote)
looks good, but not entirely thrilled with it
satin finish is my favorite.... preferably around a 600 grit hand rubbed finish. Looks good, does not show scratches too easy.

There is no such thing as "good enough", either your work is good or it is not. How is your work?

Black Titanium Carbon Nitride or Titanium Aluminum Nitride. It's black, and it's tough! Black-T looks a little more rich in terms of blackness, but scratches easier. Same for BT2, but it scratches even worse than Black-T.

Bead blast sucks, it catches rusts and stains too easy.

I like satin finish, like on Benchmades.

Mirror finish is pretty, but only for non-user knives, because it scratches too easily and then it looks nasty.
