Blade finishing

Hey all. Quick question. There's another thread going right now about Ernie reworking blades to put a zero grind on 'em. Now, the question I have relates to that a bit. First off, if I have a bead blasted finish on a blade (production CQC7), can it be "removed" (i.e. repolished) to get a satin (I believe) finish? If so, is the blade then strong enough to take re-grinding to get the single bevel edge?

Derek? Any thoughts?
