• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

If I come into the shop and order an AR, can I still get the blade in BG-42? Also, what is S30V? I know nothing about it. What is its composition, etc. and how does it compare to BG-42? Thanks.

Go over to the Chris Reeve forum. There were a couple or recent threads that extensively discuss S30V.
Apparently it is a steel that was developed by Crucible steel specifically for knife blades. It is supposedly tougher than BG42 and slightly more rust resistant. It is a step forward from BG42 but not a major leap.

Thanks, Harrydog. Hey, is your name actually "Harry"? And you're not REALLY a dog, are you? It must be tough on your keyboard!

Nope. My name is not Harry and I don't think I'm a dog.
Go figure.
Do you spend much time in India? I've been there a few times.

Yup, I go to India every year; sometimes a couple of times a year. I study hatha yoga in Pune with B.K.S. Iyengar and his family. We do lots of "down dogs" and "up dogs", but no "harrydogs". India is one of the most wonderful/horrible, happy/miserable, delightful/ depressing, beloved/hated places on the face of the earth. After I've been there for a few months, I wonder why I EVER went there in the first place. After I've been away from India for a few months, I begin to miss it and start making plans to return. A Strider AD saved my life in Varanasi, which is, without question, the most exciting city in India, if not the world.
