OK.....I'm looking to either buy a White Owl or a Eureka Jack.

The White Owl is a Rust Red Bone Tidioute with a clip main.
The Eureka is also a Tidioute with Antique Calico Bone.

Please cast your vote and help me decide which one. :D

EUREKA!!!!....it's here!

Bet you can guess which I voted for.

To me the Eureka Jack is the nearest thing to a Grail knife as any I own. The spear/coping combo is ideal. The pattern is very classic and the feel in hand is fantastic.

92 EUREKA JACK!!!

The #92 just feels SOOOOOOOO good in your hand. Blade combo is killer!

Tough choice for me, as I like both patterns quite a bit, but if I could only have one or the other...

I didn't have to think too hard about it, I really like the look of the Eureka jack, but the White owl's been one of my favorite knives since I got it, it's a great EDC (and while i enjoy the spear points the clip is a great choice)

Here's another White Owl to turn your head...Both of these patterns are excellent, you can't go wrong!

If you get the 92 get a barehead. If you get the 68 get a bail-less Tidioute. Either way they are very different knives. The eureka is a much larger and heavier knife. The 68 is generally loved for its pocket friendly shape and single spring slimness. The 92 for its large spear and coping secondary, which is considered by many to be a great jack configuration.

On a personal level - a Northfield WO was my first GEC, but the bail I found awkward, uncomfortable and generally annoying. I had to remove it and feel much better about the knife for doing that.
- I got a Tidioute eureka in smooth calico identical to the one pictured by joeymoey above. I used it quite hard in its early stages because the blade combo is great; but it just doesn't do it for me because it is too big and heavy for my pocket tastes. Maybe if I had bought the barehead model, it would be less imposing, the end cap is majassive.

Hope that helps

Paul

I would say the Eureka Jack. Just such a unique looking pattern.

Here's the blade forum answer, get both:-)
Both great knives, love how the 68 disappears in the pocket, but the 92 also does the same. My 92 also has the smoothest action of any knife I own, plus the blade combo is +++. If I had to pick one, it would be hard, the 92 is slightly more robust and blades offer more utility, but the 68 is no slouch either.

Is that a green bone on the #92?
