Here's 12, my basement is undergoing some renovation changes so I can't get the the gun safe (guns, PM2's, Militaries and PM3's, Fixed Blades) but the knife safe had these 12 Manix's...

I think I'm missing the Forum Glow-in-the-Dark version and the CF 154/S90V Composite, I don't know what else might be in the Gun safe Manix-wise... But there are 2XL's shown, one awaiting a scale swap...
My local shop has the CF 154/90 if you are interested. Just PM me and I can get you their info. No e-store but will ship

Just stopping by to note how sharp my Manix 2 m4 is!!
Did the atm receipt paper test and did figure eights and push cuts effortlessly. I knew it was sharp when I did the hair on your arm test yesterday.
But man has it wowed me this thing cuts like a laser !!
I've been around a few sharp knives in my day to ;)
But this definately is one of the if not the sharpest as far as slicing ability.

How is the ball bearing lock? Is it stiff and hard to close or can you close off with just one finger, preferable your thumb?
Or does it have to break in for a while?

Not sure about this particular model of Manix 2, but all the other three (2 lw cts-bd1 and a s110) that I tried, no - they are not to be closed 1-finger, impossible.

I can close all of mine reliably with just my thumb. I have Orange/S90V, Maxamet, BD1, BHQ jAde/M4. With some practice, I think I could close reliably with just one finger. Not impossible at all.

I m currently carrying a Manix 2 lw with xhp steel. I had been closing it with both my thumb and a finger. Just tried it with my thumb only, and it worked.
Surprised me.

I carry an S30V/black G10 and an S110V/dark blue G10 Manix2 and I open them both with my thumb only with the greatest of ease. Such a excellent design.

In fact , I've become so conditioned to the ergos of the Manix2 that anything else in my hand feels wrong and unpleasant.

I was handling my pal's Para2 yesterday and it felt like I was holding an old car antenna.

They were talking about closing the knife with one finger.

Looks like I need more practice.

I have a few different Manix 2's and 2 XL's. Some broke in nicely and can be operated with the thumb and the others cannot. A lot of times I will switch from a Manix2 and grab a Benchmade Axis lock. they are so easy to operate that it feels as though it is broken. If you have any expectations of the Manix becoming as easy as a Benchmade you will be disappointed. The only resemblance is that they have the buttons in the same place. They are very different mechanically. I will say that even though the Manix 2 is harder to operate the springs do not break nearly as often as the Benchmades. It's a tradeoff, ease of use or reliability. With me it just depends on how I feel that day. My hands become arthritic in cold weather so it is nice having the Benchmades for those days. If I had to choose between the 2 I would go with Spyderco for it's reliability and Benchmade for flicking and having fun while watching T.V. ( does anyone still call it a T.V. ).
By the way if you call and ask Spyderco how to make it not as stiff they will tell you that it is supposed to be that way and that it was never meant to be a one hander.

I had actually wondered about the durability of the spring on the Manix 2. I have had a few omega springs break in my Benchmades, and thus and reluctant to carry them as my only folder. I'm glad to hear the Manix has a more durable spring, and I actually have never heard of one breaking now that I think about it.

The durability of the single coil spring on the Manix isn't even an issue. I don't think I've ever seen one instance of one breaking or failing anyone, unless they took it apart and ruined it themselves.

Agreed. I don't think we can find a better balance of strength, durability, and ease of function/deployment. From a utilitarian perspective, I think it's the best.

Of the acquiring of Manix's there is no end...

How OCD would it be to disassemble the knife to tuff glide/oil the entirety of the M4 blade. Is it safe to say that oiling it without disassembly and taking proper care of a non stainless steel is sufficient?
Also I would like to know your impression of disassembling a Manix 2 if you've done that to one of your many.
Thanks!!!

I've actually never felt the need to fully disassemble one. In my limited experience M4 doesn't stain too readily as long as you take care of it.
