Ordered 4 knives from them. They sent 2....6 days after I ordered. (promised 2 days) I messaged them about the other 2....said they would not do my engraving....(shows their right wing fascist ideologies) They claimed to offered me a choice on the 1st of October to change the engraving....total lie. They knew I would cancel if they could not ship the whole order....so they stalled...avoided answering my emails....until the two had shipped....then lied and said they refunded the difference. I called my bank...who said this is a common scheme...showing refunds on the website account page for a company...but then the refunds never actually being done. Disputed with my bank now...they were very suspicious of this company and said it was not the first time they have dealt with this issue with them.....you have been warned. Avoid at all costs.

You created this account today, and this is your only post. Seems a bit strange to set up an account on a random website to complain about a company that did you wrong. Ironically the very same company listed in your complaint supports the fourm your on complaining on.

I'm still interested to hear what exactly they refuse to engrave.

I'm not a fan of bhq; so I'm not defending them. It's no secret here that they're slow to ship, and priority shipping does not mean priority processing... besides, adding engraving increases processing time - that's just common sense. Also, when refunds are granted, they frequently take time for the funds to show to your account - that is nothing specific to bhq.
As far as the engraving - did you read their terms regarding engraving? (I don't care what you wanted engraved - it doesn't matter)

Look around....there are complaints ALL over the internet about them. Facebook page especially. Even my bank knew of them.

As of right now, you have accused a business of lying and theft, while your accusations build a story of a standard business transaction that you are interpreting poorly.

Let's run through the facts (rather than opinions) of what you're stating:

Companies don't always ship orders the next day, especially in the midst of a pandemic where chronic understaffing is a widespread issue. Buyers can pay for priority shipping, but that doesn't mean priority order processing.

They shipped the part of the order that had no complications while they waited on your input for the issues with the customizing jobs; this seems like a positive part of this interaction. Holding the entire order up because part of it needs extra communication seems like a worse solution than shipping what was able to be shipped as it was available.

Credit card refunds take time to process and it is out of the control of the business once they submit it. They are not immediate, and to expect it to be so is a failure on the buyer's part, not the seller.

The engraving comments, lying comments, fraud comments, bank comments, etc. are all unfounded as of right now and have not been shown to be factual, so I am treating them as opinions rather than facts.

So far, the facts of your experience point towards an understaffed business fulfilling an order logically and then submitting a refund as requested.

I find it odd that a significant amount of the threads started about bad experiences with BladeHQ in the past couple of years have been first posts by new members who never came back after participating in the one thread (or just making the one single post).

I just looked at my BHQ account, and I have 15 purchases with them since 2012. Every one of them was A+, including one that I cancelled after the purchase - which BHQ promptly took care of. Based on what others have said about BHQ, my experience is normative.

I just did the same. Since 2014 I’ve placed over 50 orders with them without any problems. I started avoiding buy from them when they started charging CA sales tax. Now I only purchase from them if I can’t get the knife/product somewhere else.

It was a political statement referring to police reform.
Sounds like you wanted to get something politically controversial engraved on a knife, and according to the BHQ disclaimer on engravings they can reject engraving services any time they want, for whatever reason they want. Pretty open ended, and understandably so. I don’t appreciate the “right wing fascist ideology” remark when they simply made a judgement call for their business.

Imma guess this’ll be another one of those one hit wonders.

I’ll also wager we never find out what D David Davis wanted inscribed on those blades. Hmmmm?
