I used to prefer right around 3", but lately I've been doing some food prep on the go. And find that 3.5-4" is infinitely better for food work.
My main carry knife that gets used for food is the Tenacious, because it's my work knife. It's just under 3.5. It gets the job done, but I need something a bit longer. Hopefully my ti/m4 military gets here quickly
