Good looking knives Andi and Trand. I like those acorn shields Trand.

Thanks Ed, I'm looking forward to it.

I don't believe so Jeff. I don't think GEC has made any jack 440c knives yet. Only single blade, 2 full blade, or opposite ended knives and the Cubans stockmen. The only stainless jack I know they made was a #73 sfo for Cripple Creek but they used 420.

I love wood, and my favorite is jigged bone - however, every man needs at least one GEC with Abalone Looking Glass scales. It's purty, and tough too.

I recently got this one in a trade, and I love this knife.  My pics just don't properly show how vibrant those Abalone LG scales really are. They're much more lively in person.

The nice thing about the Tidioute #12 single blade is that you can pinch the blade open. The blade is "proud" enough to grab without using the nail nick. The single blade Northfield is not as easy to pinch since the swedge is rounded and not quite as proud.

I haven't noticed that when shopping online. I think I would prefer the more rounded and less proud blade contour though. Might just have to try both. LOL

Stunning knife Chris.

Thanks - the cool thing about GEC's "Looking Glass" acrylic scales is you have a veneer of whatever brittle or fragile material is used for the scales, and then a covering of clear acrylic. You don't have to worry about it banging around in your pocket and cracking/breaking, and if dropped it won't shatter like MOP or a thicker abalone scale will.

These are definitely worth the investment.
