Blade length.Shrinking with age?

The law keeps me at or under 4" here in CT. If I'm in the woods it's closer to 4" but if I'm out and about in town or visiting then a 3" or under fixed goers in my pocket and/or my skeletool comes with me.

At home I've been using my Walter Davis Hudson Bay for culling some saplings and batoning logs for the campfire. It's just fun to use and am eager to take it on my next out of state outing.

i don't think my tastes/prferences have changed much.. i have never really been into big knives and rarely carry a knife, that has a blade bigger than 4 in..

That about sums me up too.

I've got a big chopper and a few other larger blades but they don't see much use.

ive stayed pretty static if i decide to get a rat rodent waki it will be my first knife bigger than 7 inches of blade length. ive enver needed a big blade and ive never thought of it as neccessary for wilderness survival or close combat (in army not mall ninja :D ) im usually carrying a 3-4 inch fixed blade and havent really felt under powered my favorite outdoors knives right now are my rat RC-4s and my busse hellrazor and skinny ash-1 also not a huge fan of thick thick blades a 1/4 inch thickness is as far as i can ever see me wanting on my blade.actually i think my thickness requirement has gone down.

You go with a smaller blade because you are confident with your skills with a small knife and know you don't need a machete.

It is not so much the length of the blade for me, I find myself drawn to knives that are Lighter though. I don't like packing a heavy knife. It is fine to carry one in the Jeep or Boat but not on my person.

I find the older I'm getting, the less knives I keep (their are plenty I'd have if I could afford it). I have found very particular blades are working for me and they are all below 6", but I am saving up for my chopper now. I prefer a chopper to a hatchet anymore, and it will probably be my only big knife.

I carry a machete if I am going bush like jungle bush , and a 4inch folder

thats my users

I have a fair few other knives just cos I like em

but here , my folder canget me arrested if I Cannot provide an acceptable legal reason to have it in my possession , and a machete is virtually always considered a weapon

aus knife laws ... testament to why politicians shouldnt be allowed to breed
