Blade marking help...

Folks, I need your assistance please. The new Bura knife I received has the typical Nepalese script HI marking on the right side of blade. It also has the UB (Uncle Bill) and RS (Rusty Slate) honor markings.

The left side has what I believe are Bura's initials in Nepali script, and some drawings that may also be his kami markings. But, I want to make sure that is what I'm looking at. Instead of trying to get these markings to show up properly in a photo, I've tried to make a rough drawing to see if you guys can still make out what I mean. What are these markings? Thanks :)

Sun is for HI

Moon is for Bura

Devangari script is Buras Initials

I like your energy you put into this Jimmy. You direct yours a lot different than I do mine, and I see that as valuable.

I think it says: "You are here."

Actually, Andy's got it right:thumbup: :p :D

I'm a bit dyslexic, Jimmy, your drawing of a moon is almost also the drawing of another sign, that of the setting or rising sun: Sher's sign.

Guess my drawing is not exactly too much help, huh?

Can you describe to me what Bura's marking usually looks like?

I must say that I was hoping that the Kami initials would be done in their script, and not in english print (since they are Nepali Kamis).

I like the other side's Nepali script HI marking (since the knife is Nepal made).

And, I like the UB an RS being in english (since I believe both these gentleman were American).

The strange little diagrams that I can't reproduce with my drawings, I also like ;)

This would have been the way I would have probably asked for these to be, given the choice :)

I'm pretty sure that is Bura, Jimmy. He doesn't often draw radiance from the moon like he has with your blade- another plus, in my opinion.

Sher's mark will be a line designating the horizan, and a sun rising with distinct radiance lines.

Jimmy, I just had a thought. You know, it is has been said past redundancy that these khuks find their owners. Karma- a balancing. The fact you have such a nice WWll is a good sign. This visually appealing khuk came to you.

Thanks again for your help, guys :)

Yeah, maybe it was meant to be :)

Hmm, seems like Bura likes to keep folks on their toes :)

A moon here, maybe a bit of a moon change there, maybe english print, maybe Devangari script.

Yup, trying to keep folks guessing :)

Maybe harder for imposters to get too used to his markings as well ;)

The wife took the camera about 45 minutes ago, but maybe I'll be able to do it later :)

It is almost "exactly" as shown above (just not as crude as my drawing). It has what seems to be a canoe (probably a quarter moon), with that "radiation" (?) overlapping and coming out of it. The other markings are also dead ringers to whats on the knife (except looking nicer on the knife).

Here is a photo link that I took from my other thread. It's not really clear, but maybe you can kinda see what I mean. Once you click onto the link, you can hover your mouse arrow over the bottom right corner of the photo, and there will be a way to enlarge the photo some more.

Looks like bura to me, but you're right, its not clear. I'm having trouble zooming into that particular spot too. Oh well we'll have to wait for the new pic. Still, I'm 85% sure its Bura.

Yeah, I imagine that it's just another variation of his markings.

Yangdu listed it as a "Bura" made knife on the DOTD sale, and I guess if anyone definitely knows, it would be her :)

Thats wierd Jimmy. I think your knife is one of a kind. Good for you.

It looks like Sher's symbol was put on first, then Bura's was put over it, for whatever reason.
