I've got a knife that needs some new micarta handles. I tried to mod the ones I have myself and while they are functional they are quite ugly. Anybody got any suggestions who I should contact?

Any know who I should contact about getting custom micarta handle slabs for a medium sized fixed blade?

I have so far been unable to get anyone to answer my questions, but I'll try again.
Does anyone know which if any custom makers would be good to contact regarding some handle and edge restoration work on a combat/survival style fixed blade?
Thanks in advance for any advice

Custom & Handmade Knives is not the place for your question, so I've moved both threads you put there. Have patience. Give people time to come across them and decide how they can help.

All three threads are now merged in one place so all the information and answers will be easier to get at.

Not a thread hijack!
I too contacted several knife makers. Asking if anyone had the time to rehandle a very old but nice #8 carbon steel Cleaver. I received zero replies.
So... I decided to see if I could find the supplies and do it myself.
After checking several vendors to purchase burl maple or another "exotic" wood. I found that there's minimum purchase.(No need for $100 worth of wood)Maybe I'd use the surplus later??? NOT!
The same thing with the rivets. I dont need a set of 50! A set of three should do it...unless I totally fark up the setting of a few.
This "Project Cleaver rehandle, spa treatment" quickly lost it's spot on my "To do" list.
So I reoiled the cleaver. stored it away until I can find the rivets & wood. and I'll retry. Later this fall or winter.
I'm sorry for this winded rant.

Good Luck on your project!

I would contact STR to see if he can do it or if he knows someone who can, and definitely get in touch with richard j, even though the handles aren't leather. Both these guys know who's who and how-to in this business.

I don't know what you mean about bulk knife supplies- places like usaknifemaker.com, texasknife.com, knifemaker.ca, popsknifesupplies.com etc. will have a set of scales and pins with no minimum order.

Hello Badzilla83 & Jimmo,

Your both looking in the wrong direction.
