Blade not centered in handle normal?

I have two mini-grips. My mini RSK is centered, my Cabelas D2 mini-grip is not centered. I have only looked at two other mini-grips, but I didn't look at blade centering, so I can't say if my experience is typical.

if it's so bad it rubs against the scales when opening/closing then it needs work/warranty

if not, or not even close: happens all the time, no problem. fuggedaboudid

Thanks.. I feel better that I am not the only one. haha

Its not rubbing. But if I put a bit of pressure on it when right hand opening, the blade does touch the side a bit.

hmm, and how about when you close it, does the blade rub the scale then as well?

if not, then it's no biggie. if so, then either contact BM if you still have warranty, or disassemble the knife and do some DIY'ing

>add an extra washer to the pivot (make sure the washer is as close in both size (diameter outside/inside, thickness) and material as the orignal one, if the thing has any washers at all..... ( dunno ).

the extra washer should go at the right side of the pivot when looked upon from above (left side when viewed from underneath)

best of luck with it,

denn

There is definitely not touching on closing. Its only when closed, and the right thumb puts pressure on the blade during opening.

I purchased the new on Ebay. Looks new, and has warranty card. That should be enough right?

As far as DIY, I would love to, but have zero knowledge or prior experience with it.

Thanks for the help.

nah, doesn't seem to be worth the effort. unless you're real anal about it you could try warranty, but i'd leave it be as is

Yeah, I was considering contacting the ebay seller... I guess I'll just live with it. Thanks.

U might try adjusting the pivot , just remember how many turns . As long as you dont have scraping , vertical , or side play - no biggie .

No scraping. I don't think there is any vertical or side to side play. When blade is open, rock solid. When closed, I can push it over slightly, but that would be any knife.

I will try the pivot. I didn't think that would help this situation, but then again.. never tried it either. :D

Thanks for the help.
