What are your guys experience with and opinions on these options?

Penetrator tip (bring the shoulders to a point at the tip) $25
Double edge point (the back of the point is sharp and cuts in both directions for about half an inch) $50
Full double edged dagger grind (tweaked blade shape, both sides of the blade are sharp) $150

Double edged point is the best move imo

I went back and forth (and probably spun Jo out in the process) between penetrator, sharpened and regular tip. Ended up with the regular ol' tip, the way the maker intended it. No experience, except it reduces the chances of me cuttin' my dumb ol' self.

And who am I kidding... I'm not stabbing anything, let alone enough things to tell a difference in how one versus the other performs.

Penetrator tip is a solution to a non-existent problem as far as I am concerned.

Regular tip is the best option for 99.9% of the applications this knife was made for.

Sharpened tip is my personal favorite because it is an interesting option to add and Nathan does it quite elegantly.

The full double edge dagger grind is a completely different knife and shouldn’t even be in the conversation with the other three. I am not saying it is not exceptional, but it is no longer a utility fighter, it is a purpose built weapon.

Just my musings, buy one of each, sell the ones you don’t like, or keep them all, like me.

Are you saying it becomes a "Fighter" and less of a Utility Fighter? I'm not likely to get my hands on a boot dagger. Plus I like the longer blade length on the UF.

I recently purchased an MC that had the penetrator tip and I gotta say it made the point much more acute. Maybe the big difference is due to the thickness of that blade stock, but I ordered one on the UF2 because I liked it so much.

That’s pretty well the way I look at it, too. I typically lean towards plain Jane (with double black) for one reason or another.

I’m thinking I’ll get a double edged dagger grind gussied up with a satin finish and popsicle sticks just to have for show and a standard grind (possibly acid washed) for a user. Could pair it with my AEBL DEK with acid wash and penetrator tip. Oh the decisions we are forced to make! ;)

TG, that's cool; better than I imagined. Are there any reasons for me not to go for that Dagger Grind?
First, Thanks

Second-I am hesitant to give anybody advice or Suggestions , However if you are drawn to the Dagger Grind, go with your first Instinct

Obviously if you can afford both, that would be IMO your best scenario, If not GO WITH the ONE YOU FIRST DRAWN TO

Both have their Pro's and Con's
I Love both of them (But the Dagger Grind is just plain NASTY-(in a good way;))

Hope this helps, and Good luck with your Decision
