Blade play enough to warrant return?

There may (I don't think so) be head sizes that differ from t6-t8-t10, but those are the main sizes, pivots are generally t10 handle screws and clip screws are generally t6.

Most vendors won't check blades unless you ask them to, I have only handled a handful of knives that had zero blade play, it's a product of production and production tolerances.

That being said if there is slop and adjusting the screw(s) doesn't remedy the slop to an acceptable level, I would return it.

Which model is it? Some benchmades seems to have blade play more than others, like the 470 Emissary, actually usually from the Benchmades I've handled it seems like the spring assist ones get more bladeplay. Sometimes with assited opening benchmades it's also hard to adjust out without making the blade too tight.

With my 710 it takes very minute turns of the pivot to find the spot between too tight, just perfect, and a little bit of play. Even after finding the spot the pivot screw would loosen up a bit and play developed. I put some loc-tite in, found the sweet spot and its been perfect.

The seems to be the general consensus with AXIS knives but I'm sure they are not all perfect. If it persists get it taken care of.
